A simple guide for busy parents to strengthen their kids’ fine motor skills at home.
How to set up this Scrape Painting activity:
It’s so easy!
- Put out a craft tray or baking pan for your child to use.
- Place a paper on the tray.
- Fill up your squeeze bottles with paint. Add some water so the paint can be squeezed through the bottles easily.
- Grab some pieces of cardboard with flat edges to keep nearby.
Scrape Painting Instructions:
- Invite kids to squeeze paint onto white paper. I usually give them squeeze bottles with yellow, red, and blue paint.
- Encourage them to make designs all over the paper.
- Next give them a piece of cardboard and show them how to scrape the paint off the paper.
- Checked out the cool designs that are left after they scrape off the paint.
- Lay the design out to dry and try again with a new paper! It’s impossible to make just one of these.
