How to Make the Easy Hot Glue Tin Foil Necklace for Kids
What you need:
- piece of cardboard
- pencil
- scissors
- tape
- hot glue gun (if kids will be using it, make sure it is a low temp variety)
- aluminum foil (tin foil)
- permanent markers
- hole puncher
- string or ribbon for hanging
Step by Step Tutorial
Prepare a piece of cardboard.
Cut a circle from the cardstock to make the base for your pendant.
Draw the letter of your choice or another simple motif on the cardboard circle.
Use hot glue (adults only) or low-temp hot glue to carefully trace the pencil lines.
Let it dry completely.
Lay a piece of tin foil over the cardboard and gently press with your fingers to feel the embossed hot glue design.
Press firmly to make all outlines stand out, then fold the edges of the foil to the back of the cardstock.
Secure it with (duct) tape to keep everything in place.
Use permanent markers to color the pendant.
We used light green color for the background, leaving the letter A uncolored so it shines in its natural foil finish.
Punch a small hole above the letter.
This way, you can thread a string or ribbon through for hanging.
