It’s time for some silly business! Let’s make a fun handprint clown craft. Clown crafts are super fun, clowns are, after all, the greatest source of amusement.
This one makes a great classroom project, especially if you are planning to make a colorful bulletin board display.

How to Make the Handprint Clown Craft
What you need:
- scissors
- glue
- nontoxic paints (black, white, red, yellow, orange, blue, and green)
- paintbrush
- blue ribbon
- yellow construction paper
- red pom-pom
- two googly eyes
Step by Step Tutorial
Prepare a square piece of yellow construction paper—this will be the stage for your child’s clown performance!

Paint your child’s palm white, which will be the clown’s face.
Don’t worry if it tickles; that’s part of the fun!

Paint each finger in various colors to create a wild, wacky clown hairdo.
The messier, the better!

Help your child press their hand firmly onto the yellow background, then gently press each finger with their other hand to ensure a lovely, vibrant print.

Let the paint dry, and wash your kids’ hands.

Once the paint is dry, have your child glue two googly eyes onto the clown’s face.
Now it’s coming to life!

Help your kiddo attach a red pompom for the clown’s nose.
The sillier, the better!

Encourage them to draw a big, goofy smile on their clown with black paint.
It’s sure to make everyone grin!

Have your kids add a blue ribbon at the bottom of the yellow background to complete their handprint clown craft.

Ta-da!

All that’s left to do is to display the craft on the fridge or classroom wall.
